I know Luxus models of Gallus cameras have snake skin. This one is bare naked. If it always has been like this, I don’t know. I don’t see any indication it ever had a cover.
Camera is in very nice condition. The camera shows some scratches and scuff marks. Nickel plated parts are in good condition and show some wear. Shutter works and faster speeds seem pretty accurate, longer speeds are to also pretty accurate, P settings work. Shutter speeds settings is smooth. Aperture show wear and are clean, and setting smoothly. Spirit level doesn’t work anymore.
The elements are in good condition. Shows no scratches, no separation, shows haze at both lenses, no cleaning marks, no fungus on or in between the elements. Finder in very good and clean condition. A rare and Gallus camera with original instructions in nice condition. Camera comes in original leather casing, with ground glass, 6 plate holders and original instruction in French. I don’t have to tell you how rare the original instructions are. Nice feature is that the camera has filters slots on the inside and can be flipped downward with a small wheel at the side.
