G de R could also be former owners initials. A real nice walking stick. Made in 1929. Although that is what the silver ring says. Might be earlier. I think it could be that the former owner paid a visit to the island and had the engraving made. Pommel shows some signs of prior use and is in good condition. Probably had a gem stone inlay, but that is lost. Pommel feels very good. Total length is 84cm, 33.07” in length. Weight is 169Grams, 5.95oz. Shaft shows clearly scuffs and scratches, no cracks. Has a wood tip and sturdy shaft.
